'Lu Zhu'

One of the primary objectives in the creation of Lu Zhu has been to provide a haven for tranquillity and serenity away from the turmoil of earthly activities in an attempt to seek harmony between mankind and nature.
'Wingswept Gardens'

Carved from bush and peat bog, beginning in 1978, this evolving landscape garden has become a haven for birds and plant lovers. Grassy vistas, ponds, trees, rocks and sky are united by large plantings of rhododendrons, roses, and herbaceous boarders.
Vern & "Doc" Finley

Stubbs Island

The owners of this private island in the Pacific Ocean are not members of our chapter but this garden is included here anyway as it was a stop on our 2002 bus tour of Vancouver Island. Bad weather prevented us from visiting this island at the time. These pictures were taken May 30th, 2004
Melba & Harold Johnson

The fire in this greenhouse, caused by a mal-functioning heating cable, was so intense, it melted the solder on the irrigation pipes overhead, causing a flood, which in turn extinguished the fire!
Lori & Dalen Bayes

Located near Sumas, Washington and protected by a high canopy of conifer and maple, the Bayes' garden contains an extensive collection of rhododendron species - everything from R. sinogrande to R. keleticum. Interspersed with these are many other fine rhododendron and azalea hybrids and an amazing array of woodland and alpine specimens.
'Painted Mountain'

This incredible hillside of rhododendrons in Tofino began in 1971 and has since grown to include over 2000 plants (about 1000 varieties). Referred to as Tofino's "Painted Mountain", it is best enjoyed during April and May.
